Aquaculture Harvest

Aquaponics is a completely self-sustaining system. It combines aquaculture fish farming with hydroponic plant production in a closed-loop system. The combination of these two elements are mutually beneficial: the waste from the aquaculture provides macronutrients required for plant growth to the water, which cycles through the hydroponics tables, while the absorption of the waste by plants naturally regulates the nitrogen levels in the water that is then fed back into the aquaculture tanks. These processes eliminate the need for the chemicals that are required for aquaculture and hydroponics, if done separately. The result is a system that requires very little chemical additives with a produce yield that can be certified organic.
